Why Golf?

Experiences are our greatest teacher. Through our personal growth and junior golf programs, we see kids’ build self confidence, inspiring more active participation in leadership opportunities and events, community involvement, and college scholarships.

First Tee – Savannah builds Game Changers by empowering kids and teens to grow through golf and life skills. By combining golf with character development, our trained coaches create a safe, supportive environment where participants build confidence, resilience, and skills they can use on and off the course—at school, with friends, and into college and careers.

Participants develop lifelong skills such as emotional management, goal-setting, conflict resolution, appreciation of diversity, and golf fundamentals as they progress through the program. Each age group engages with First Tee’s 5 Key Commitments while building a strong foundation in golf.

Ages 7–9:
Have fun, build confidence, learn golf basics, and form positive relationships.

Ages 10–11:
Explore character skills, grow enthusiasm for golf, and practice positive behaviors.

Ages 12–13:
Develop golf skills and character through collaboration, growth, and mastery.

Ages 14+:
Strengthen character, advance golf skills, and plan for future goals on and off the course.
